While the beautifully rustic stables are the most prominent feature, the property has a few gorgeous locations for your ceremony. The grass lawn and the fireplace patio, which both sit right outside the stables, are both lovely spots. And in case of rain, the grand room is a great contingency. But to tell you the truth, I think the most absolutely magical spot is right by the Little Cahaba River.

Whether on the grassy riverbank or on the wide, flat rock that seems like God placed it there for an altar, you’ll feel like you stepped into a fairytale as you say your vows with the brook gently burbling just a few feet away. Depending what spot you choose, Swann Lake Stables can host up to 250 guests for your ceremony and 300 for your reception.

And I haven’t even mentioned the bridal suite! More than just a suite, this full-size getting ready spot above the stables has a kitchen, two living rooms, and a bathroom. And in keeping with the rest of the stables, the design is all in gorgeous wood beams, with a cathedral ceiling to top it off. You and your girls may not want to leave 🙂

What about after the ceremony?

With a gorgeous wheeled wooden bar and ample setup and prep space for caterers and live entertainment, you can rest assured that choosing a smaller venue does not mean you’re getting any less! Your guests will love the serene outdoor spots just as much as you do, and I simply can’t say enough about the gorgeous wooden architecture of the stables themselves.

Swann Lake Stables is a family-owned equestrian facility located in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama. The facility has been in operation for more than 20 years, providing riding lessons, training, and boarding services to horse enthusiasts in the area.

The facility is situated on 22 acres of land and features a large outdoor arena, a covered arena, multiple turnout paddocks, and a cross-country course. The stable has a variety of horses available for lessons, including ponies for younger riders, as well as horses suitable for beginners and advanced riders.
