Located in the heart of the historic Lakeview Industrial District, the Theodore at the Swann Chemical Laboratory is Birmingham’s newest historic event venue. Built in 1929, this Moderne-style building spans over 20,000 square feet and features exposed brick walls, barrel truss ceilings, and steel windows.
Hamilton Place venue, the restored historic home built in 1852, and the new, state-of-the-art facility. All are surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens, courtyards, and a spacious terrace. The expansive ceremonial lawn and pristine lake are framed with giant live oaks, providing a magical setting for the perfect Southern wedding.
The Sonnet House is the Birmingham area’s premier special event facility. The house was built in 1918 and used as the McLaughlin family’s farm house. Built around the Little Cahaba River, the 18 acres were used as the base for the Mclaughlin Farm. After the home went to auction in 2003, it was purchased by Jared Heaton and his family to renovate and transform into a facility for weddings and other events. In the following years our team has helped hundreds of couples realize their wedding day dreams from quaint ceremonies to extravagant affairs.

The Club is among the most unique private clubs in the region and country. At this mod architectural jewel atop Red Mountain, you’re met with an extended hand and elite hospitality. Some might call this connection southern hospitality, but at The Club we call it family.
Over the years, we have listened to our members and their ever-changing tastes and we have grown with them. Since 1951, we have expanded structurally to best serve our growing membership. In 2018, The Club successfully completed a major renovation that “restored the core”. Modern updates to the interior and exterior were necessary to enhance the experience shared among our members.
