Ever since I took Ashley and Andy’s engagement photos last fall, I could tell that they were completely smitten with each other. It was clear from the start that their downtown Birmingham wedding would be breathtaking.
Going into the beginning of the year with a wedding date set, the couple and I had no idea what was coming. When the pandemic hit and everything started shutting down, it seemed like their Birmingham wedding would have to be severely delayed. Plans were up in the air, and no one knew what to expect. But by God’s grace, a few weeks from the wedding date, we were able to make arrangements with the church, and the Birmingham wedding was still on! It would have to be small — with a limit of 10 people, the guests were only a handful of close friends and family members. Even so, the day could not have been more beautiful.
Although the church limited attendees to 10, this Birmingham wedding couple’s friends had to show their support. As the couple exited the cathedral, they received quite a surprise. Various friends and family had come to cheer them on and congratulate them with a surprise sendoff! Despite the uncertainty leading up to the day and the limitations of the event, there was no doubt that this couple’s friends loved and supported them.
After the sendoff, we went back to the same beautiful rooftop where their engagement photos took place.
